Name: Roxy
Age: 15
Character applying for: Akito Sohma
What do you like about Fruits Basket? I love the unique plotline - it has all the elements you can have in a story, and it's one of the few series where I like all of the characters
Why would you like to roleplay as the character you're applying for? Akito is my favourite character; she's so complex, not just a black-and-white "bad guy." She's not evil, she's just very misunderstood, and she's had a hard life.
Do you have experience roleplaying? Yes; I'm a part of several Furuba RP sites, such as Itsumo, Together Always, and Harusaki.
How often can you get on to Roleplay? daily, with exceptions
How much Fruits Basket have you seen/read? read up to chapter 128 of the manga, own the anime.
Please give an example post in 3rd person of your character (atleast 10 lines): The room was dark. Very dark; the only light came from between the slats of the shuttered windows. For most people, this would not have been their choice environment. They would have preferred being in a lighted area than in a dark, gloomy room.
However, Akito Sohma was not most people. It wasn't that she enjoyed being holed up in her room all the time; it wasn't that she was strictly abject to light. But she did enjoy the darkness more than most, and it just so happened that at this moment, one particular stream of light was bothering her, shining directly into her eyes. Closing them didn't help, nor did rolling over or burying her face into her pillow.
Finally, frustrated, she sat up. Screw the "doctor's orders." She wouldn't leave the room - much as she hated to admit it, Hatori did have some semblance of control over her, at least as far as medical needs and her health were concerned;; and that day, Hatori had instructed her to stay in bed.
She really didn't see what the big deal was. Earlier that day, as she had been sitting on the porch in the abnormally hot sun and interacting with the birds, she had suddenly been struck with a mild case of heatstroke. Mild to other people, anyways. What with her already frail health, Hatori hadn't wanted to take any chances and so had restricted her to her bed for the day.
Akito was brooding over these thoughts and sitting up still further when she was hit by a sudden dizziness; hunching over herself as a bit of nausea kicked in as well, she begrudgingly admitted to herself that Hatori had been right. She hated that. But, nonetheless, she did lay back down. And there was that d*mn stream of light again.
Restraining herself from shrieking with frustration, she rolled over and put her pillow over her head. Where was Kureno when she needed him?! Why wasn't he here with her, now?! He was always supposed to be with her, unless she gave him permission otherwise!
Clutching the pillow more tightly over her head, the notion - irrational as it was - came to her that this had to have something to do with Shigure. He was always scheming, always calculating...even against her. And he had, once upon a time, told her she came first with him...
With these upset thoughts swirling around in her head, Akito eventually drifted into a fitful sleep.
